Thank you for visiting our website. The Center for Higher Purpose is an educational program that presents a new career option to people from all walks of life. Every city and county in California is in desperate need for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselors (formerly referred to as Drug and Alcohol Counselors) to help their communities heal from addiction.
It is my ultimate joy to raise-up the next generation of SUD Counselors through our curriculum. What makes this online program so different, is that I combined what the field of Psychology teaches us about the "Change Process" and the "Cycle of Addiction" into every module. In the process, students learn more about themselves and are better able to help the people they serve in their community... Plus, if the student happens to be a former addict or user, it enables them to use their prior experiences to give back to their community by helping others to "not" make the same mistakes they made. Former users get to enter into the helping professions rather than take from their community like they did once before.

to read a short description of what is taught in each module. Our program consists of 20-modules, each class varying from 3-hours to 45-hours in length. Students can complete these academics in as little as 6-months to 1-year (depending on students' availability time to work on the assignments). Each student works at their own pace.
There is no formal student portal to enter, everything that moves between the instructor and the student is communicated by email.
We offer a rolling enrollment 7-days per week.
This is one of the only career fields that offer a "Learn & Earn" program - where students can begin working at local recovery & treatment agencies in their local area immediately after receiving their CADTP Registration ID number which is granted to them as soon as they
complete module 1, the 9-hour orientation class!!!
What other career field lets you learn and earn before you graduate??? This is likely the only quick start to a new career than any other.
