Cfhp-12 Family and Group Therapy - Dynamics and Skill sets (45-hr. module)



This course focuses on the treatment of addiction within the context of the individual, family and group counseling.


Students will learn how to:


  • Identify at least five group models
  • Assess for client readiness for group
  • Understand the dynamics for placing clients that honor culture and diversity
  • Facilitators will be able to bring the group through the early stage of treatment, middle stage of treatment and the late stage of treatment
  • Patterns of behavior to observe in group settings
  • List ways that Group Leaders can choose to intervene in the group process
  • Discover how Peer Leadership can be shared within the group, that helps to keep the group on task
